Dear Parents and Guardians:
This is a reminder that students will not be attending school on Friday, June 5th as it is a Ministry of Education approved PA Day.
The following is an outline of the professional development that staff will be engaged in over the course of the day.
Friday, June 5th PA Day (Full Day)
Teachers will be working on reviewing and documenting assessment and evaluation data on this day in preparation for upcoming report cards.
Support Staff will be engaging in the following:
In the morning, support staff will be participating in a Canadian Mental Health Association workshop focused on Maximizing Our Mental Health.
In the afternoon, support staff will be focused on preparing materials for students transitioning into another classroom at JMCCSA for the upcoming school year and students transitioning out of the John McGivney School Authority and into community school for September 2026.
It will include:
- The development of transition tools, including reporting on medical concerns and equipment, communication and assistive technology reports and self-regulation and calming strategies.
- The development of feeding protocols, including utensils and materials, feeding procedures and special preparation considerations.
