Dear Parents and Guardians

This is a reminder that your child will not be attending school on Friday, January 17th as we are having a Ministry of Education approved PA Day. This day is aligned with our co-terminus Boards in the Windsor-Essex region.

The following is an outline of what staff will be participating in on this PA Day.

Friday, January 17th PA Day (Full Day)

Topic 1: Teachers will be reviewing and documenting assessment and evaluation on this day for reporting purposes.

 Topic 2: Support staff will participate in a full-day session with the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres (OFIFC) Indigenous Cultural Competency Training (ICCT) PD (Cycle 2)

Entity Hosting: OFIFC

Presenter(s)/Facilitator(s): Mike Buckland and Zelia Khan

Descriptor: The Indigenous Cultural Competency Training – Cycle 2 professional development enables participants to build skills, knowledge, attitudes and values essential to fostering positive and productive relationships with Indigenous people through hands-on activities and a formal presentation.
