Dear Parents/Guardians:

This is a reminder that students will not be attending school on Friday, September 19th.

In compliance with the Better School and Students Outcome Act (2025), school boards are required to post details about the specific activities staff will be participating in on Professional Activity Days.The following is an outline of the professional development in which our staff will be participating:

Friday, September 19th PA Day (Full Day)

Our upcoming PA Day will be divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon.

9:10 to 11:40 am

In the morning, teachers and support staff will be reviewing John McGivney Children’s Centre School Authority (JMCCSA) policies and procedures related to Health and Safety including the Workplace Violence Prevention Management Program will be reviewed.

12:40 to 3:10 pm

Areas of focus in the afternoon will include Strategies for Safe Intervention, Concussion Protocol, Administration of Medication by School Staff, Workplace Harassment Prevention and Emergency procedures. Other affiliated policies and procedures will also be reviewed.
